A day dedicated to economic opportunities between Monaco and Africa.
On Friday 11 October 2024, Monaco will host the third edition of Africa Day, a major event organised by the Club des Entrepreneurs Monégasques en Afrique (CEMA), in partnership with the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) and supported by numerous Monegasque and international economic partners.
The event will take place at the Monaco Yacht Club and will bring together high-level economic and political leaders from both Africa and Monaco. The day will begin at 9.00 am with a welcome at the Yacht Club, followed by an introduction by Frédéric GEERTS, Chairman of CEMA. The morning will be marked by a series of conferences focusing on the economic opportunities and challenges of the African continent, with the participation of influential figures such as Mo IBRAHIM, founder of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, Zyad LIMAM, CEO of Afrique Magazine, and Mustafa RAWJI, Managing Director of RAWBANK RDC.
Topics to be discussed include the current state of affairs on the African continent, the outlook for 2035, and the development of relations between Monaco and Africa. Ms Isabelle BERRRO-AMADEI, Government Counsellor-Minister for External Relations and Cooperation, will speak on this subject. A special round table will give Guillaume ROSE, Executive Director of the MEB, the opportunity to talk about strengthening economic ties between Monaco and Africa.
The afternoon will be devoted to discussions on growth centres in West Africa, with a particular focus on Côte d'Ivoire, in the presence of Mr Moussa KOUYATE, Chairman of the National Steering Committee for Public-Private Partnerships, followed by round tables on business opportunities up to 2035, and on Southern Africa, represented by Mr Hemraj RAMNIALl, CEO of the Economic Development Board of Mauritius, among others.
In addition, B2B sessions will enable participants to forge fruitful contacts and strengthen commercial relations between the two continents. Africa Day 2024 is a unique opportunity for economic and political players to strengthen collaboration between Monaco and Africa, by exploring new avenues for development and cooperation in key sectors for the future.
